Popular Post saltbox Posted February 25, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 25, 2021 Rested just over 4 months at 62RH, 11 months box age. Again, first time trying the specific vitola but have had a handful of other Trinidads. First third: Opens with a nice rich cake donut and honey sweetness, with a touch of vanilla on the retrohale and a milky coffee underneath it all. Middle third: More of the same, but the coffee becomes a bit darker and richer. The sweetness on the finish is a nice, almost floral honey, and the smoke is buttery in both flavor and texture. Last third: Not much evolution as expected, but as the butteriness intensifies and the coffee becomes richer, the cake donut notes change to something more like nicely browned sugar cookies. Overall: For me, H. Upmann, Quai d'Orsay, and Trinidad seem to occupy a similar bucket of flavors, and the Rey is probably my favorite short smoke of the bunch. Of course, it's also priced accordingly... 91/100 13
Silverstix Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Pretty much right there with ya on my review. Kettle corn popcorn often comes to mind for me with the Reyes. Great cigar
