Rested just over 4 months at 62RH, 11 months box age. Again, first time trying the specific vitola but have had a handful of other Trinidads.
First third: Opens with a nice rich cake donut and honey sweetness, with a touch of vanilla on the retrohale and a milky coffee underneath it all.
Middle third: More of the same, but the coffee becomes a bit darker and richer. The sweetness on the finish is a nice, almost floral honey, and the smoke is buttery in both flavor and texture.
Last third: Not much evolution as expected, but as the butteriness intensifies and the coffee becomes richer, the cake donut notes change to something more like nicely browned sugar cookies.
Overall: For me, H. Upmann, Quai d'Orsay, and Trinidad seem to occupy a similar bucket of flavors, and the Rey is probably my favorite short smoke of the bunch. Of course, it's also priced accordingly... 91/100

Nice review.
I'm a fan of the Reyes. One of my favorite smaller smokes. I almost always have a few in my stash
