not sure if anyone remembers this.

suffice to say that the regular lunch yesterday was a rather monstrous one. for some reason, even though we are supposed to bring one good bottle each, most of us brought multiple bottles - except for the two blokes who brought one bottle and one was corked and the other misread the brief. i digress. anyway, i may not have been in peak fighting condition most of last night and for reasons still unfathomable, i set the video to record the ABC late night music as i saw they were doing retro night. so i have had it on in the background - roy orbison doing 'crying' to the inmates of pentridge prison (that just seemed cruel); shirley bassey (or burly chassey as a mate calls her) walking through sydney doing 'something', zeppelin doing stairway live, the "brand new release from cat stevens" 'father and son' (i told you it was retro), plus a lot of crap - including johnny farnham (a very young JF) doing 'everything is beautiful'.

then on came johnny chester singing about Brizzy. with the immortal lyrics

"glory, glory

i'll be back to see the Storey

bridge"

(unfortunately, it didn't quite all fit in one line for him).

some things are better left buried.

anyone remember that?
