I don't think too many people would know that until recently, surfing was illegal in Cuba.

It was back around 2008 that I fell into a circle of Havana surfers who are friends to this day. 

Habana Libre is a documentary on Cuban surfing and the trials that they went through.  Below is a snippet. You can stream the full documentary live from the 19th - 22nd  of February here at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival
