Popular Post djrey Posted February 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 15, 2021 Celebrating engagement and valentines day together this year prompted me to pull out some goodies. While I did not smoke the Siglo II with the wine I figured they complimented each other well for my photo! The Cohiba was smoked the day after. This Siglo II is from a handful of singles I purchased in Cuba in early 2013. I assume them to be 2012 production buy sadly cannot provide much more than that. I only have few left and each one is a treat so I smoke them sparingly. First thrid is just a gorgeous creamy grass note with fleeting cedar wood. Light medium body with a nice medium length in finish. Love this. Second third the creaminess is just building and building. Billowing clouds of dense smoke. Aged hay and wood. Solid medium body. Final third is more of the same with the addition of a touch of light spice. Did I say this cigar is creamy? I haven't bought any Siglo II since my trip to Havana (mostly due to price) but whenever I see boxes come up it is hard to not grab one and forget it for a few years. It is just a delightful cigar. -95 PTS. As for the wine.. We are drinking a 2000 Chateau Talbot from St. Julien. A very nice fourth growth with some good age on it. Poured first two glasses then poured the rest to decant. Began quite closed and somewhat thin bodied. Nose is gorgeous barnyard funk, leather, forest floor and cigar box. And hour decanting and the body and fruit began to build along with some wet gravel. Plenty of tannins present until they began to fade around the 2 hour mark. 14
Focal_Banger Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Congratulations! That seems like a fantastic cigar to forget and come across 5-10 years later. Cheers! 1 1
Connoisseur Kim Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Your review reminds me of the day when I puffed Cohiba Siglo II Tubo at cigar lounge 5 years ago. It's one of the best Mareva Petit Corona indeed ?! 2

Never had BPC before, so I'd like to try BPC for first Bolivar @djrey. 2

Highly recommend trying them.
