Popular Post TobaccoRoad Posted February 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 15, 2021 Invited my wife out to my man cave to join me for a smoke tonite. We had a very enjoyable smoke for Valentine's Day. I was smoking one of go to CC's JL Seleccion #1. She selected the "Apple Pie" dipped smoke she bought from a vendor in the Market on our recent trip to Charleston. My review: I went with a straight cut and it resulted in a firm draw with a grassy/hay cold draw. 1st third: Nice coffee flavor with a tangy retrohale. Plenty of smoke and a nice even burn. 2nd third: Coffee with a hint of chocolate. Retrohale still tangy with a hint of baking spices. Burn was a little uneven and one relight that was partly my fault. I was talking and let it go out. Final third: Turned more to a leathery flavor and the retrohale was the same. Very uneven burn requiring several touch ups. Not the best JL I've smoked but still a good cigar. It's rainy and damp here so the humidity was high in my smoking area even with the heat cranking. That probably contributed to the burn issues. The company made the experience better though. 8/10 Her review: "It tasted like smoke." 10 1

But that's about as bad as it gets for me. Good cigars: takes like something Cheapo cigar: tastes like tobacco Horrible cigar: tastes like smoke

She bought it from a vendor in the market who had a stall selling cigars. He said it was "hand-rolled" but he couldn't tell me where the tobacco was grown. He had all different flavors. This one was "infused" with Apple Pie moonshine. She wanted it. I paid him $12 for it. "Tastes like smoke" is probably charitable. For the record I offered her a CC to smoke... 1
