Herf day part 2. going from a 2013 Partagas D2 and forward to the Partagas D4 A/T GLU FEB20. I just received these tubos a few days ago but cant resist.

First off removing it from the aluminum tube I notice the construction. Tight and smooth with a nice aroma as one would expect. I punch a hole in it and instantly feel the difference of a silky smooth wrapper. Much smoother than the aged D4 I just smoked (Left). I ordered up a fresh cocktail for a fresh cigar and start again.

Cutter: Cardo 4 in 1, 11mm punch.

Pairing: Old Fashion (I need the sugar to keep going)

1st Third: Light it up and instantly lights quickly and evenly with a perfect draw. I instantly recognize that spice of the D4 with a bit of pepper, wood and floral. Smoke is good and thick white with the ash quickly coming off.

2nd Third: Flavor is constant and steady. I'm puffing on it slower than the first third enjoying it a bit.

Final Third: Pretty consistent yet and I start to pull on it and it's holding together very well up to the final inch before I set it down.

Overall Impression: It'll be a good smoke given 6+months in the humidor. Pretty much what I expected from the D4 being young. Burn was even, smoke was good. I'm looking forward to trying again in 6 months to see how it evolves.
