More written on the topic than I needed to know in the following blog post (spoiler not quite literally the meaning):

http://thusspoketero.blogspot.com/2017/06/no-that-is-not-what-kalsarikannit-means.html

Closer to getting drunk somewhere (not necessarily at one's own home, alone or in underwear, underwear though part of the term is more of a figure of speech, but apparently the term does imply fairly casual dress) instead of going out.

Wikipedia has:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantsdrunk

Apparently there's a 2018 book on the topic.

Has anyone tried these beers that are named ”kalsarikännit”

https://www.twobirdsbrewing.com.au/pantsdrunk/

Those are so called hipster beers and thats not typical to ”kalsarikännit”.

If you are going to get ”kalsarikännit” you are supposed to drink something basic like regular lager beer (Budweiser/Fosters erc) or Jack Daniels/Bundaberg rum etc.
