Popular Post cigaraholic
Not many choices for me, the number of cigars I’ve smoked from 17-20 I could count on one hand with a finger missing. I’ve bought plenty, but have many more soldiers with seniority. Cigars can be like people, get off to a great start and you’ll keep calling them, get off to a bad start and you may never called them again. The only sad thing about my 50 year love affair with Cuban cigars is how few times I’ve actually gotten to go into a cigar store and select my own cigars. A few years ago in London I was like a old man in a candy store, picking up singles of cigars I wanted to try. I smoked my first Vigia on the hotel patio chatting to Scotsman about baseball, the only thing missing was an interpreter. Very decadent cigar, like a chocolate Cohiba and for its size a long smoke. Once the new kid on the block price wore off I started buying boxes, opened this box a couple of weeks ago. The first 2 were incredible. Rob says coffee and donuts, mine were coffee with cream and glazed donuts with sugar coating. The feeling I got from that granulated sugar hitting my lips with the fried dough was delicious. I’m a plain cake man, but I do like the glazed flavor. I can’t resist a open box of donuts, so I grabbed another. This one is well filled at 11.7g, smooth dark colorado wrapper, draw has just the right amount of resistance. Starts off with earthy coffee and glazed donut, no sugar tingle. Body is a little over medium, heavier than the first two. Thru halfway I’m still getting glazed donut but the coffee is black, I like cream in my coffee. A chocolate flavor turns the coffee to a mocha towards the end with a butter toffee finish. This cigar smoked more like what I would expect from a 3 year old cigar, great flavor but there’s more to come. The first two were take me now! If the next one smokes like the first two I’ll keep going, otherwise I’ll give them more time. 75 minutes
