Popular Post sho671
Setting: Mid-morning on 12/12/20. Temp is in the low-30's. Day started out sunny and turned grey, completely opposite of the previous day. Paired with: Coffee (half dark roast and half medium roast, sugar, no creamer) and a glass of water. Cut: Straight cut (Perfect Cutter). Pre-light: Densely packed cigar but good draw. Wrapper has a gleam to it. First Third: Smoke production was low and the first third was fairly bland. I picked up some pepper on the retrohale, but otherwise no notable flavors aside from generic tobacco smoke and an intermittent sweetness. Second Third: I cut a little deeper with the straight cutter to see if I could improve my experience, but nothing much changed for flavor/taste. Towards the end of the second third, I decided to "relight" and purge the cigar even though it hadn't necessary gone out. The smoke production improved, but not much else. Last Third: The last third brought on some pepper on the tongue as well as a subtle sweetness, but again nothing impressive. This cigar was a little disappointing. I was expecting a little more flavor from a Bolivar, but really didn't get much. I would definitely try another, but would not buy a box at this point. 1/5.
