Popular Post Sir Diggamus
This cigar has been Mr Dependable for me not only in the last couple of years but really since I have been smoking cigars. I have gone through boxes of various years since 2005 have never had a bad one, and this one is no exception. It's a sad thing that these little guys got the ax last year. The past couple of afternoons have been just warm enough here to enjoy a larger smoke, but I wanted to make sure I got a review for this one in first. I find this a very versatile smoke regarding when I can enjoy it. The Boli Tubos 3 is a cigar for me that is good with coffee in the morning, as a midday snack or the last cigar of the evening after a few others. Which stands out because so many other cigars are more of a "first cigar of the day" or "you should wait until after dinner for one of these". This cigar is colorado in color and has only a tobacco aroma at cold. A little squish and the cigar gives just slightly, not too tight. I clip the cigar and the dry draw seems easier than I expected. After putting it to flame this Bolivar opens with earthy flavors and a hint of espresso on the finish. The ash is salt and pepper in color. As I get to the 2/3 the espresso flavor moves more to the front and hints of cocoa begin to move into the mix. The draw is really easy, closer to smaller rg NC smokes, but not quite that loose. A little buttered toast note comes into play closer to the end of the 2/3, unexpected for this cigar. As I get into the last third the dominant flavors are espresso, cocoa, and earth in that order. There is a little sweetness that is hard to put a flavor to specifically, but just dashes. I smoke it to the nub. Many examples of this cigar from earlier years always seem to have a berry note in there somewhere that was absent with this one, similar to berry note that punches you in the Liberator, just milder. But with it only being a year old there is still time changes. An excellent cigar 90 Points
