Cohiba Robusto EOS NOV 17 (MPRW)

I don't usually smoke Cohibas mainly due to the cost. Few weeks ago prez had a thread about "reward" cigars and I listed this as one of mine. I haven't particularly done anything to deserve a reward these few days but .. no time like the present right? 

On the cold draw, smells of a lot of honey and coffee. A bit of citrus to complement. 

After lighting up, tastes primarily of coffee and honey. A very nice combination, sweet and smooth. Towards the end of the first third, a nice lemongrass overtone to complement. Fantastic. Burn is perfect up till now. 

The second third increases in strength and the coffee bitterness takes on a more prominent role. Honey is now receding to the background a little more. 

Start of the final third has a hint of a chocolate. The cigar becomes more and more bitter. Peters out into average tobacco.

Overall, great smoke for the first 2/3. Wonder if the last third will get better with more age or if this cigar has reached its peak? Very respectable 86/100.

Spot on.  I have the same box code.  It’s ok.  I’d say mid 80s as well.  For me, not what I expected from this 3 yr CoRo.  Here’s to hoping they get better

I’m currently going through a box of 2018 coros and most sticks had that last third “ cold shower” experience, last couple of sticks i would just not bother with the final third and put it out of its misery

 

Ive a Coro 2020 on the way let’s hope it doesn’t have  the same issue

You put it perfectly. It's actually pretty enjoyable before the last third - I thought that it was on track to score a 90. Hopefully your other sticks and new box are better!
