Popular Post Habana Mike Posted October 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 26, 2020 OK, this one has become quite precious and highly sought after over time with boxes going for over $3000 if they can be found. While the factory name is No. 109 (50 x 184mm) it is listed as a Double Robusto. Odd as the Conde 54, a Sublimes (54 x 164mm) is also listed as the same. I recall smoking my first one at the Four Seasons Punta Mita near Puerto Vallarta around 2009 where they had them in the humidor at the pool bar. Could have been the rerelease but a memorable cigar nonetheless. These are from the original release and I'm down to just this one and now a lonely single. Perfect construction, great draw. One of the best 109 heads I've come across and I am a 109 fan. SP Eslavo, Diplo Bushidos, Boli 5ta, LGC Orgullosos and ERDM Kon Tiki to name a few. Cedar and cinnamon at cold. Nutty, creamy, toasted brioche. Hints of cocoa and balsam. Smoking well. Razor sharp burn line. Compact gray ash. Lasts an inch or more each time before dropping. Nutmeg and cinnamon become more forward. Nuttiness (cashew?) and cocoa remain present. Light on the retrohale, these have mellowed since I first split the box with a couple of friends. Kelly took a couple of puffs and also described cinnamon. Her palate can be pretty spot on. Danger Will Robinson! Easily a two hour smoke. 96 for me, one of the best of the year so far. 15
maverickdrinker Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 Beautiful review Mike. I still have an unbroken original release box. May have to crack it open....Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
