La_Tigre
This test isn’t exactly a test as we moisten the wrappers on most every cigar. Dry only happens when on trips out to the bar, etc.. The two selections have been in the Cohiba Lanceros dry box (70F) that contains a Boveda 62 for over a week. I clipped the first cap with our trusty Firebird V-Cut. Starting out with the dry test. Cold draw: Perfect. Toasty tobacco. Woody paper. 1st third. Nighttime potato....apologize for the potato quality picture. Nothing remarkable. Toasted tobacco and that paper. 2nd third Nothing new. Picking up in intensity. Wrapper starts to crack. Final third: Still very one note with some cocoa finally sneaking past the paper. Intensity increases still. Overall I’d recommend if you enjoy the flavor of milk chocolate you accidentally melted onto your spiral bound notebook. ?? Wet post to follow. And it was horrible.... Clipped the second cigar to find the draw was impossible. It will be tossed into the Boveda 58 jar and forgotten. I had three on deck so the next one up gets the same treatment. Cold draw is fairly loose. Same notes of paper and toasted tobacco...Dipped it in filtered water from the tap: 1st third started out not dissimilar to the dry cigar. Just really nothing special. Ash fell well before the midpoint. 2nd third: The cigar went acrid just prior to the beginning. I purged it several times and kept going. Strong sour burnt paper. I ashed it and found a hole through the ash. Also, the cigar has tunneled terribly. After a touch up/even up, I ended up with this: The wrapper is trying to crack again. I soldiered on for another few puffs and finally tossed it. The tunnel continued. We aren’t ones to pitch a CC but I can say I’ve finally got it. “No sense continuing with a bad cigar. ? The first few from this box were decent. Nothing remarkable but a perfectly good coffee smoke. I sure hope these two (three) aren’t a sign of more to come...
