Popular Post saltyfeet
So a good friend of mine is celebrating his birthday month and pressured me into doing the review with elements of stupidity. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Montecristo No.5 UEB NOV 17 Dry Review This was the first time I had the Montecristo No. 5, I've had a reasonable range from Monte's, so doing this test would be still quite familiar with some new fun elements. I used a friends small punch cuts and lit up with my trusty torch. And like all the Monte's I've had, they start immediately in the medium body. Creaminess, cocoa is what I get from up to the final third and switches over to a bit of woodiness at the end. Pancake ash is visible. Overall fantastic cigar for 20-30 minutes. Montecristo No.5 UEB NOV 17 Wet Review - with a twist Occasionally, I have my cigar pairing with Bubble Tea. Drinking Bubble Tea separately with cigars has always been quite nice. But I have never heard of Bubble Tea infused cigars, after all, Bubble Tea has been pretty popular for many years. What could go wrong. So like a sane person, I dip the cap of the cigar, a good 60% of the way for a good 20-30 seconds. Visually, the cigar looks very similar to a water dipped cigar, except mine was dripping with bubble tea and the texture of the wrapper became slightly sticky as my friends refused to get me tissue/rag to dry it off. Till then, I realized, I only dipped it in 60%, I got to do the full thing, so my birthday friend says, dip the foot. And of course, I might as well have some fun, I dip the cigar foot in a few times to make sure that not that I have my cigar 100% wet, but a good chance of it to be infused with this delicious bubble tea. Taking it out of the bubble tea, visually it look completely no different, but this time, it dripped a lot more excessive bubble tea, and like before, a bit sticky on the wrapper from the sugar. Lighting it was a bit more difficult, but with my trusty torch, I overcame that challenge. Woah, first puff, creaminess! but nothing else First third, creaminess! but nothing else Second third, creaminess! but nothing else Final third, creaminess with a hint of some kind of tobacco taste. Ash is flaky and not as pancake-like. My Bubble Tea was not harmed in this process, it tasted just fine. TL:DR, don't dip your cigar in bubble tea unless it a really bad cigar. You will end up having a creamy cigar with hints of stickiness on the wrapper. Video Proof of the dipping VID-20201019-WA0043.mp4 2
La_Tigre
I considered doing this silliness with a third cigar clipped and submerged foot end...my second cigar was terrible and that idea abandoned...?

My friends dipped it several times during the session, absolutely no difference with the exception that it got more wet/soggy. Flavours didn't change with water. However, if you want a fake-aged cigar, bubble tea is the way to go.
