Popular Post cigaraholic Posted October 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2020 This is my favorite inexpensive cigar, so of course those little darlings at HSA discontinued it, the same people must run AT&T. It was the perfect ride to work smoke with a cup of coffee, but now that I’m retired I don’t smoke them that often. I smoked one the other day and it was so delicious I kept thinking why do I spend so much money on cigars when these $3 sticks make me so happy. I had 2 left in the box, both weighing 6.3g, so what the hell, give one a bath. The Dry First puffs are creamy coffee and lightly toasted tobacco, a little under medium body and the draw is fine. A few more puffs and there’s vanilla bean, I know that can’t last, it’s not a Sir Winston. Settles back to creamy coffee and toasted tobacco. Half way, body gets to medium with that PL caramel and black coffee. Last few puffs are peanut brittle, a very nice 45 minute ride, longer than I expected. The Wet I dipped it, shook it, wiped it off and let it rest for a few minutes. First puffs are creamy coffee, draw is good, plenty of smoke but I’m having to work hard to keep it lit. It’s burning slower than the dry one, not so much burning, more like smoldering. I’m having to puff way too many time to keep it lit which gives me a slightly bitter coffee with cream flavor. Half way it shows a little buttery flavor but the bitterness from over puffing says game over. I can’t remember ever purging one of these little sticks but this one got 3. I thought wetting the wrapper might lengthen the smoking time but it lasted 32 minutes because I had to work so hard to keep it from going out. Maybe this technique is better for larger ring gauge cigars, I’ll keep dunking donuts but not cigars. 6
