Popular Post dominattorney Posted October 10, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2020 This one always punches above its weight class. Just bought some goofy booze so I am going to pretend to be Ken and see how it paire with a Haitian Agricole rum and a 20 year old armagnac. Starts off promising with a generous draw. Some in this box have been quite tight but ones that draw well are lovely. Caramel and toasted tobacco with a creamy note for the first third. I try thr rum straight and it is not a good pairing. It is terribly funky. Not something I am averse to necessarily, but not a good pair with this cigar. It taste like a musty orange flavored sour beer with a grassy aftertaste. I make a note to myself that it will likely make an excellent mai tai and surreptitiously pour the rest of my glass back into the bottle. Second third is under way and armagnac is a winning partner. The subtle heat of the booze competent the light flavors of the cigar. Caramel and cream dominate now with hints of cinnamon and light spice on the retrohale. Finishes off like one of these babies. Very creamy and sweet. Wonderful smoke. Got about an hour before I have to meet the wife for dinner. Lets try something else..... Fonseca was a 9 of 10 for me. 5
