I remember reading about the release of these cigars on halfwheel and thinking I have to try them out. I ended up ordering one of each vitola: petit corona, robusto and toro but never found myself reaching for one. I finally decided to smoke one this weekend and went with the toro. As with most NCs, there were no complaints with regards to the draw, burn, smoke production and construction. But taste and flavor is where I was not impressed. The cigar wasn't bad, but I guess I expected more from a cigar that was specifically blended to pair with a specific drink. Naturally I was drinking some Diplomático Rum but unfortunately this cigar wasn't a better complement to the rum than any other cigar that I have smoked alongside Diplomático. I didn't pick out any discernible flavors from the cigar but nothing negative or unpalatable. I was honestly tasting more of the sweetness of the rum than the flavors of the cigar. The cigar did not live up to my expectations, but by no means a bad cigar; still enjoyable.
