The first HU2 that blew my mind was from one of @El Presidente blind tasting maybe 3-4 years ago.  I’d smoked a bunch of them, but the one in the blind tasting was insanely good.  Loads of overt baking aromas, roasted macadamia nuts, charred vanilla and cinnamon, cedar....   on and on.  I guessed Diplomaticos No 2 because I’d never had one before and It wasn’t like anything I’d ever had before.
I picked this cigar  Friday afternoon before I knew there was going to be a PRW event, and I’m glad I dug it out of the bottom of the smallest of my cabinets. This cigar was as close to that revelatory Upmann as I can recall.  I’ve only smoked a couple since that blind tasting, but this one was tip top. Sweet tobacco aroma at cold.  Fairly easy draw, but not too loose for sure. Lighting it immediately delivered the roasted nuts, cinnamon and fresh gingerbread again. Subtle insertions of anise arrived at the 1/3 and remained along with a fairly strong roasted coffee bean flavor.   One of those “don’t ever let this end” kind of cigars....  I was driving, so photos are limited.   Burn was perfect until the final 1/3 when a few touchups were required.

Hoping the rest of that box has improved to this level as well.
