Popular Post BuzzArd Posted September 6, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 6, 2020 I don’t often have two Upmann within two days, but the Connie A haD already been selected prior to the HURWR weekend. The PC I enjoyed last night was definitely the right size at the right time, and after a very long morning helping Brian get The Lawman running and a very long afternoon working on some new cigar perches it was a fitting reward. It’s been a while since Smokin’ Cat joined me. Still too damned hot outside. But she stayed for a while and did her best to look like she was enjoying herself. This box is just a tad over 6 years old and IMO they are just fantastic right now. Cold aroma was sweet tobacco. Draw was perfect Cuban. Snug, but not restricted. Initial light was espresso and shortbread sprinkled with confectioner’s sugar. Ash held tightly and burned perfectly even throughout. Even after setting this down for up to 10 minutes the cigar was still lit. I’m not convinced the 104°F temp had anything at all to do with it. Into the second half and the initial espresso, shortbread and sugar are met with a heavy creaminess. The cigar maintained this profile until I began to burn my fingers. While the flavor profile didn’t really change dramatically it did intensify considerably, and I’m always happy to have a great tasting cigar up the flavor intensity even if the flavor profile doesn’t change. Strength: medium. Score 95 7
