Popular Post Çnote Posted August 23, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 23, 2020 thanks to @5thStarChicago I've been looking at this one all summer, hoping to not like it and thus be ok with missing the mad dash for Party Maduro on 24:24. While I 'like,' and 'enjoy' Partagas, it's rarely what I pick unless I'm in a groove of daily cigars. I generally go for something sweet/creamy/smooth if I'm only weekly. 1st 1/4" is a blast of dry cocoa and hazelnut, totally unexpected. This rolls neatly into a ginger, white pepper spice cake with hints of leather and earth, just as you'd expect from Partagas. Medium, medium +. Awesome stuff, I'll get in line now. At about 1/2 way, flavors shift into orange peel and oreoes, and intensity ratchets up to full. Getting that NC vibe, not in a bad way, but a palate coating slickness that I don't often feel in CC, especially at nearly 4 years. An inch later and thats all gone, back to mid+ CC goodness, cakey Partagas and a little orange twang. Past the bands, this bangs along with all cylinders, just shy of full: rich, almost bloody earth, cedar, leather, peppery spice. Classic Partagas. Pretty great cigar, let's call it a 90 and add it to the list... 7
