Popular Post djrey Posted August 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2020 Been moving through a lot of older stock recently and had a few of these sitting around. Started out with a charcoal tasting punch of spice. I was pretty surprised to the power on the light with such an old Dominican. Cigar becomes cinnamon spices along with some darker chocolate and some wood. Really no evolution. A very simple enjoyable smoke but nothing exciting. Chucked it with around 2 inches. -87. 5
Cairo Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I have a couple of old boxes I am working through--I like them--smoother than they used to be but still have quite the kick.

I admit I was very impressed that they still have some kick to them! I was just hoping for a bit more evolution. Still a very fine smoke however!
prshah25 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Nice.. I have some Anejo Sharks from 2011. Have to smoke one soon to see the evolution or not..LOL 1
CountingStogies Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I have a box of 2017 anejo 888's and its a wonderful size for that line. They are aging nicely, still full/full, cinnamon and sweetness, but they've always been kind of one note. Not much of any transitions going on but I think it's one of the better Fuentes. 1
SmokyFontaine Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I absolutely love those. I think the box is 1.5yrs old or so, and I'd say the second one I had at 6mos in my possession was outstanding. I should revisit them for sure. But I got plenty of transitions, found the smoke to be about the most viscous I've had, and to be honest, found the whole smoke to be a fun adventure. I wonder if 5yrs age has muted much of what makes them interesting.
