Popular Post maverickdrinker Posted July 26, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 26, 2020 The wrapper is a golden, light chestnut hue. Smooth to the touch with no major veins. Construction is good. Fairly solid with a couple of softer areas. The triple cap looks great and the foot is packed. Aromas of citrus, earth, leather and barnyard with a touch of ginger. A quick twist from my Siglo multi punch and we are ready to roll. The draw is a little open. May be the humidity in the air. Ginger snaps, eucalyptus, earth and leather come from the cold draw. First ThirdPowerful start. Strength is at the upper end of medium bodied. Light oak, earth, leather, cinnamon and citrus welcome us to start our journey. The retrohale brings healthy doses of citrus, light oak, leather and earth. Beautiful as it moves through the nasal passages. The after finish is cloying and sleek. Citrus, light oak, leather and earth than ebb into cinnamon, ginger snaps and touches of eucalyptus and cocoa. Beautiful depth and complexity with no harshness. Well integrated and lush on the palate. The medium bodied strength allows it to linger on the palate effortlessly. Delicious start. Second ThirdCocoa moves into the forefront, combining with citrus, leather and earth as they move through the nasal passages. The after finish is drier on the palate. Cocoa, citrus, leather and earth, followed by cinnamon, ginger, light oak and gravel. Flavours till have staying power on the palate however, I can feel the palate drying out from the gravel and earth tones. Very interesting.... Final ThirdRicher now. Cocoa, leather, earth and citrus take centre stage as they move confidently through the nasal passages. The after finish is heavier on the palate, with the cocoa, leather and earth taking a more dominant position. Citrus, cinnamon, light oak and touches of eucalyptus and gravel form the back end. Strength level has moved up to full bodied. Really allows the flavours to linger on the palate with a little more oomph. Beautiful flavour profile however, the earth and gravel dry out the palate. Balance between the heavier earth, cocoa and leather vs. the delicate layers of cinnamon, citrus and light oak a little off kilter and amplified with the increase in strength. Final Impressions This is evolving and smoking well. Good core flavours and well integrated. Powerful strength level that allows the flavours to be vibrant and lush on the palate. The flavour profile has core ERDM DNA that came through beautifully in the first two thirds. Has room to improve and develop more, seeing the final third was a little unbalanced as leather, cocoa and earth took over the flavour profile. Time should bring this into balance. Good complexity now however, I think patience will be rewarded, with a few more years in slumber. Has the makings to evolve into something really special. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 10 1
