Popular Post Shatner's Bassoon Posted July 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2020 This is probably my go to cigar, and this box has been excellent so far. The draw is easy without being a wind tunnel, the cigar appears nicely packed, and the cold draw gives off the usual touch of barnyard. I would expect this cigar to have a predominantly earthy character, with strong notes of dark coffee and cocoa. This particular stick, however, opens with notes of pine, dark chocolate, and burnt sugar. Unexpected, but very pleasant. As I smoke through the first third, the classic earth and cocoa profile emerges, and the cigar retains that character for the rest of the smoke. There‘s a touch of cream in the retrohale, along with a very pleasant liquorice note that enters the picture around halfway through the second third. Construction and burn are excellent, and the cigar has a beautiful light grey ash. Body is medium full throughout. The BRC has never let me down, and this one gets a 92 from me. 9
Kongelunden Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Thanks for the review. I have it exactly the same way - the BRC has never let me down. Such a nice cigar, and your flavor description is just spot on 1
