What is your special achievement that has been locked away all these years?

I won a poker machine  jackpot midweek at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast.

I was on bank paid "on campus"  study leave at the time.......250km away :lookaround:

Exactly! I caught a foul ball at a major league baseball game while I was at the dentist.

not sure if it is quite the same thing but i was awarded man of the match for the annual reds v nsw rugby clash played in sydney in 1999 (found the 'trophy' - a magnum of wine from the sponsors - recently). needless to say, not only was i not part of the team, no one in the right mind has ever considered that i might actually be selected for the reds or indeed any rugby team of ability.

basically, nsw were hot favourites and i'd got an invite to the nsw president's box for the game (ended up have a loud argument with the nsw president because he was an utter tosser who was very pissed off that nsw were losing and told me that i should sit silent and not cheer for the reds while i was in his box. i pointed out that this was unaustralian and we were away). at the function after, the reds came and went fairly quickly. the announcer, a mate of mine but a rabid nsw fan, was disgusted by the way nsw played had to give out the man of the match award. all the nsw players were still there but he looked at them and told them that none of them deserved anything and that it had to go to a qlder. he looked around and apparently i was the only qlder left so i was awarded the man of the match.

i suppose more to the theme, i was supposedly at school when i managed to get into the city to meet wilbur smith. was a big fan of his books and had read he would be in town.

I had a friend that knew I was going to Vegas several years ago and asked if I wanted tickets to a UNLV basketball game to which I replied yes, 3 please since I was meeting friends out there. My friends decided to go to Howie Mandel instead so I picked up tickets at will call and figured I’d sell 2. Met a local couple and negotiated the sale for $20. No price on the tickets and no idea where the seats were located. Turns out they were seats in the university presidents box full of drinks and food for the taking. Larry Johnson was sitting there too. I introduced myself and said my friends couldn’t make it. My guests arrived and had the time of their lives since I don’t think they’d ever had seats like those. We simply nodded at each other since I was totally embarrassed that I scalped those tickets and they knew they had something special. There was a palpable murmur in the box of confusion on how that couple got in there and I had to keep mum. I hope that couple still talks about it with their friends since I never could. Until now that is. ?

More on topic, I went to the local casino and almost instantly hit a $6000 jackpot on a penny slot machine. Had to hide a tax form and all that cash from Mrs V rather than explain how I came back from the driving range with a fat pocket.
