Popular Post Wailbait Posted May 3, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 3, 2020 In a perfect world, I’d have an equal representation of all sizes so I could do a fun head to head. The truth is that, aside from a few oddball gifts or trades, I don’t have that many fat cigars. So I figure, since I have few cigars these days, might as well stack the deck with a favorite. About 2 years ago, a friend was getting rid of a lot of his collection. While I wasn’t able to buy the super rare stuff he had because it was spendy, I got a few boxes of Principes, PLPC, RASCC and MDO4. Small stuff from 2013-2015 that I thought was great. And it truly has been superb. The most beautiful day in Los Angeles. And, while it may be a controversial statement, I can say that I think the La Gloria Cubana is my favorite cigar. Of course it’s easy to rhapsodize on things that are elusive. But for whatever reason, it just works. I honestly can’t think of another cigar that smokes well young and matures so well. This one was a champ. Opening was sweet and perfumes. But settled quickly into a powerhouse of flavor. Smoke production was fantastic and, as long as I remembered to smoke slowly, if rewarded me with a cool but complex flavor. I love these cigars. I actually intended to follow this review with something huge, but I couldn’t do if. This cigar was perfect. A wonderful component of the afternoon. Also, the conversation and martini were superb. 10
