HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE ?

 Halfway through reading the thread about what cigar to review this week I had already stopped to figure out what “big gun” I would choose,  when I read the second half it was easy, I just followed Rob’s example.  I’ve never met a lonsdale I didn’t like, it’s my favorite cigar size....unless I’m on the golf course. So going deep on these cigars was a no brainer...and a wallet breaker. It’s a throwback cigar for me, very rich powerful tobacco and a cigar I know I don’t have to hope is going to be a good cigar, it will be.

This cigar has a beautiful colorado maduro wrapper which is as dark as I’be seen on any of the boxes I’ve been thru. It opens with sweet mouth coating coffee and that Bolivar earthiness. It’s a little over medium bodied which is lighter than usual, 12 years has smoothed these out a little. 15 minutes in and the coffee has gotten darker and a nice cinnamon spice is coming thru. 30 minutes in and it’s medium full, where they used to start at. 1/2 way thru and it’s full bodied, reminds me of good pipe tobacco with lots of latakia. Definitely a after dinner cigar, or a afternoon cigar on Easter. There cigars still have legs for days, wish I’d even bought more.

Just read your review as I was finishing smoking my GM.  I think that you nailed it with the latakia.  Couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks for the review.

Nice review! I had some of those with the same box code but a month later. I remember they were flavor bombs but many were a near impossible to keep lit. It’s like the wrappers were made from a fire proof strain of tobacco, lol!
