Popular Post Akela3rd Posted April 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2020 I don't smoke these big buggers very often but when I do I really get into them. Last night, with my Cub Pack and Scout Troop I started the weekend camp. We're obviously not allowed to go camping together because of the CV19 restrictions so about 30 of them are camping out in their gardens, yards and living rooms, keeping each other updated via posts, photos and videos on Whatsapp. Absolutely fantastic evening with lots of messages pinging about, it's important to keep the Scout Group together...Plan is to run this till Monday with various challenges to keep them busy and occupied. So, for a couple of hours by the fire in my garden, before hitting the hammock, I monitored and steered the evening with a Lusitania in hand. I was busy so only made brief notes on the cigar... The cold draw was perfect with hints of bell pepper and caramel. On lighting it started with a sweet spice sensation and the expected red pepper. Underpinned with a beautiful vanilla note. An excellent start. The burn line was perfect throughout, the construction consistent along the great length of the cigar. Into the second third however it seemed to close up a little as it transitioned into a cedar and tea themed section. Some sort of herbal tea, not quite sure which but with a mild sweetness and floral tone. I slowed down a little and after a few minutes it opened up again with great plumes of aromatic floral smoke. Magnificent. Into the last third and black pepper emerged, with cardomen making an appearance too. All this with the original sweet spice and caramel and tea and pepper still there. Lots of tongue tingle towards the end and ended it at 1hr40. Very very good cigar and having said goodnight to the campers, hit the hammock. 9/10 for the cigar 10/10 for my scouts, they're an inspiration. Sent from GJ 1151 21
Çnote Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 I always wondered if your screenname Akela was Scout-related. Thank you! 1
