Popular Post CampDelta369 Posted April 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2020 Bolivar Belicosos Finos MSU MAY 19 (SMRW3/4) Wrapper brown matte 1/3: opens up with baking spices on leather and that malty note I look for in this and the BRC. Construction is a bit tight as draw is on firm side and smoke volume lower than usual. Burn is wonky. Easily holds full third of white Grey ash. 2/3: a definite spicy snap on the retro Hale. This is full flavor full bodied at this young age. No mongrel here though. Solid third 3/3: add some roasty tobacco now into mix of earthy leather. The touch of sweetness coming from that malty Guinness. Smoked it through the band and it gets a little hot. Not the best example of the many other BBFs I have had and I think the construction was a bit off. The flavors and intensity are here in spades though despite working for the correct mouthful of smoke. Solid 89 today 11
dobbs Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 nice review, i reviewed one (my first) this weekend and our notes are rather different, which i enjoy. i never found the guinness-y/malt flavor i had in the brc (the only one i've ever had). thanks for the review. -dobbs 1
