dominattorney Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Round two for slot machine weekend. Took the opportunity to write a brief on behalf of my incarcerated client at the "downstairs italian restaurant bar" that my wife and I constructed in the basement. I've only had this one box of the psp2s and have never bought another. The remaining 8 or so of them are scattered across various humidors since the box was deconstructed to save space a year or so ago. These guys never seemed to mellow out enough for me to fully appreciate and enjoy. At first they were fireproof monsters that would burn every which way except for good. Then after a year in 62 humidity they just hit like a bag of rocks with leather and spice like a one note NC ligero hooker. Let's try one today and see what happens. these have to be at least 6 years old and age appears to have done them some good. Cold draw is hay and forest floor and the first third starts off with leather and pepper, but also a sweet bell pepper flavor. At last! Some nuance out of these puppies. Burn is pretty good but still needs to be corrected from time to time. At least the wrapper burns consistently. Second third is the sweet spot for this example. I think the remaining sticks need at least 6 more months sleep before they shine. Second third sees the flavors intensify with forest floor and bell pepper popping into the foreground. Sadly, midway through and into the final third the cigar and flavor profile are overwhelmed by bitterness, though it is not a nicotine bitterness. Strangely this phenomenon is usually accompanied by a tar buildup in the end of the pyramide head, but this time no such tar buildup, just bitterness. Usually around this spot is money for my box of monte no 2 and upmann no 2s, but for this partagas, it is like fighting to find any redeeming qualities. I junk it at this length and note to try another one in september. 85 out of 100, about 75 minute smoke. Would have been 95 to 105 minutes but had to chuck it early 3
