Silverstix Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 My second QDO50, this particular one being from the Christmas sampler. Wrapper is good looking, although no real oils to speak of. I’d classify this is as “PE” level quality. Still good looking for sure. A sweet smell to the wrapper and the foot. Clip the cap, and there is some breakage at the cap. Not enough where the cigar falls apart, just enough to be a pain in the butt. Draw is a little too loose for me, focus and a slow draw is required here. I toast the foot and get this started. 1/3 It’s mild-medium bodied to start. Getting a little bit of a harsh wood in the early stages. First 5 or 6 draws I’d say. Has me thinking I’m in for a bad time. As I get to the 1” point it settles down and takes on a more creamy profile. 2/3 building off the ending of the last third, this part of the cigar is getting creamy, smooth, sweet. Still mild-medium bodied. Short but pleasant finish. 3/3 more of the same - creamy, smooth, sweet. This thing is a breeze to smoke, great for a morning cigar or if you’re just looking for something mild to smoke. Remains mild-medium bodied. Conclusion: I don’t get the frenzy over this cigar, other than being new and flashy of course. It is a good cigar, one that I will definitely smoke again. Just wouldn’t pay secondary mark ups on it. I’ve now smoked the 50, 54, and Corona. I’d rank them in order - 54, Corona, 50. Smoke time: 60 minutes Overall: 86/100 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
rcarlson Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Although mine were a bit prettier than yours, I had the same reaction. Pleasant but unremarkable. Good luck.
