Popular Post X-Man Posted February 29, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 29, 2020 This is my debut since joining the FOH community. Before I begin with my review, just realized I have reviewed this same exact cigar almost 3 years ago on cigars-review.org and gave it 92 points. I also promised to report back in a few years. So here it is. From the appearance, it is not an oily nor dark cigar. However, the sheen on the wrapper, just as El Presidente has been describing, makes it very appealing. The aroma or the smell of the cigar at cold is enchanting. It makes me really want to set the time aside for this to sit down and enjoy the journey. Edmundo is not a big cigar compare to what is currently trending in the market. But the weight is there, which means it is packed with lots of tobacco. At cold draw, I tasted ripe plum, which coincides with what Min Ron Nee described as the pleasant “tangy” flavor, the main characteristic of Montecristo. After carefully lighting it up, I was pleasantly surprised by my first draw. I instantly noticed this cigar has mellowed out over the past few years in my humidor. The draw was excellent, lots of smoke coating my mouth, meaning very good construction. Despite the medium tobacco taste, this Edmundo was rich in cocoa and coffee bean flavors. Entering the mid-point, aside from the roasted nuts and beans flavors, the intensity picked up, which was an exact opposite experience compared to my previous review. I am starting to feel these still have plenty of legs to further developed to reach its maximum potential. Towards the end of the journey, I noticed slight bitter earthy tone and saltiness, which coexisted with the leathery scent. I am going to give this 94 points, as I firmly believe a few more years in the humidor will serve it well. Thank you FOH for allowing me to share my passion. Cheers!!! 11 1
bbguardsp Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Thanks for the review. Recent examples has me leaning toward them as my favorite Monte atm.
