Connoisseur Kim Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Previously, I posted the travel humidor concept with Pelican iM2050 Storm case and noble concept (e.g. custom cedar trays). However, I faced many limitations especially sourcing customized Spanish cedar trays, so I decided to get large tupperdor (Lock & Lock HPL834), and use it as ultimate travel and herf humidor instead. I put three Spanish cedar sheets with 60g Boveda 65% RH pack from my first tupperdor, Lock & Lock HPL858 (definitely smaller than HPL834), and I feel happy that these three Spanish cedar sheets still do their job (cedar aroma fully loaded within a minute) ?! I'm also satisfied that it can be used as small desktop humidor until I finish the Coolidor project ?! External Dimension: 295x230x84㎜ Internal Dimension: approx 273.05x215.9x73.025㎜ Without Lid: With Lid: For cigar tools, I put them all into empty HdM Grand Epicure EL 2013 box, and I added bubble wrap as a layer to prevent them moving too much. It is super effective ?! Now, there are some questions lie in my head: Will one Boveda 60g 65% RH be enough for my tupperdor? Will it be okay when cedar sheets are moving around when I go somewhere (e.g. B&M, cigar bars, tobacconist shops)? If not, should I glue them? Will three cedar sheets sufficient for my tupperdor? I found three cedar sheets are good to go with this tupperdor. I found the lid of SLB automatically slides down when SLB is being vertically placed. How should I place it in my laptop bag? 1
Meklown Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Just curious to find out - is it okay to place Bovedas in direct contact with the cigars? Would this result in a particularly wet/dry spot in the cigar? 1
Fuzz AI Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 If the seals are good, and the cigar are not dried out to begin with, then 2 or 3 bovedas is fine. I have a similar size air tight box (I have 20L, 30L and 100L air tight boxes), and the 2 bovedas in there have not been changed in 4 years (still nice and squishy). 1

Its on thier website. Cedar sheets should be fine. Do not glue. If you need to resort to that, find a food grade silicone, and let it dry open for 48 hours before putting anything in there. I keep one cedar sheet for each tupperdore. Id be lying if i told you that i know any cedar sheets are effective. I think the cab will be fine regardless of position. Laptop bags are pretty tight. Looks good lonsome! I know youve been hunting down a set up for a ling time. Happy smoking, my friend.? Thanks lad! I remember that number of Boveda packs are quite different in airtight storage mediums such as Coolidor and Tupperdor (60G pack works with airtight containers that can keep 50 cigars). 320G Boveda packs are doing their job even more than 60G in terms of performance. 19 minutes ago, Meklown said: Just curious to find out - is it okay to place Bovedas in direct contact with the cigars? Lock & Lock is one of the great tupperware manufacturers which has great sealing. There is the only vendor who sells 320G 65% RH Boveda packs. I'll definitely use it over 60G since 320G is more effective than putting multiple 60G packs. Surprisingly, unlike other cigar tools (Colibri V-Cut is being sold on almost $80 in my country), the price of Boveda packs (60G, 320G, hygrometer calibration kit) in Korea are almost identical with American B&Ms and Amazon ? (not much difference TBH)!
