mwaller Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Piramides?! Yes. This stick was gifted to me by a neighbor who visited Havana on a cruise last year. Knowing that I enjoy cigars, he excitedly told me about his visit to a cigar factory and his purchase of a "lifetime supply" of cigars - a gift box of six sticks ?. He then presented me with a carefully saran-wrapped example from his box. I wasn't aware that RyJ produced a Piramide, so I was suspicious that this example had been produced alongside the glass-top Cohibas.... However, subsequent research showed that Habanos does supply an RyJ Piramides is their Seleccion Piramides box... Whaddya know?! The cigar was clearly well constructed using quality tobacco, so I decided it was time to give it try. 1st Third: The cigar opened with light toasty flavors and the subtle, yet unmistakable aroma of roses. A light cream undercurrent made for an enjoyable introduction. 2nd Third: the floral aroma remains unchanged. Wood and pencil shavings enter the profile, along with a bit of spice. Final Third: Roses give way to a tangy, sweet cedar flavor that persists through the end. RyJ is not my usual fare, though I appreciated the unique floral quality and impeccable construction of this cigar. 89 points. 3

Given what I've heard about these I'm surprised it took that long for pencil shavings to enter the profile. I'm glad to see they decided to get rid of the cedar dividers somewhere along the way.
