Popular Post RDB Posted November 22, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2019 Sooo... expectations high, obviously. This was nothing like JM, that’s for sure. Except perhaps for the expensive looking suit. Lovely looking stick: smooth and supple, well-preserved and sheeny after ten years. Calm smoke. Very calm. Cool, light-roast milky coffee. Seasoned wood. A hint of sweetness to that wood, maybe cherry. But it’s the character that gets you. Like smoke in a gentle breeze, or the run of a quiet stream. No fireworks. No sturm und drang. A cigar for the library, or a warm solo evening in the mountains. Great burn, huge long ashes. One touch up the whole way. I do love the first half of a DC: all that cool refined smoke. Then it started to gently creep up in body, and even after a decade started to get just a tiny bit grubby at the end, so I set it down satisfied just after that second picture. Don’t like scoring. Let’s call it a 1! 6 1
