Popular Post Silverstix Posted November 12, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 12, 2019 Ah the RASS. A forum favorite. Always a beautiful looking cigar. Always sounds divine when reviewed on the forum. Always priced fairly when up for sale here by Rob. Unfortunately this cigar has not done it for me. I am 0 for 3 with this 6-pack. Harsh, very full bodied, spice and pepper bomb, basically all of the things that steer me away from NC’s. No strewed fruit. No sweetness. No balance. Construction has been great though! So I brought another one of these singles to watch my kid’s hockey game yesterday morning. Bit of a breezy morning, figured I’d bring something that I didn’t mind chucking if I needed to. Boy was I in for a surprise!! This cigar delivered crazy good flavors and balance. Got that spiced raisin, almost like a spicy rum raisin ice cream. Got the prune notes very prominently throughout. There was no missing these flavors, they were blatantly obvious. Construction, as usual, was great. Everything came together for me. Still a little on the fuller side than I’d prefer, will revisit again in 6 months and see if it hits me sweet spot. 90/100 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 7
nKostyan Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 For RASS, I don't play Russian roulette, just put a new box in storage and smoke another box (aged 3+). It's not always necessary, but it's always enough to avoid clueless dissapointing attempts.
Vito Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I've got the exact same (well not the exact same but you know what I mean) RASS cigars and I can attest that what you say is absolutely spot on. I thought the same thing. Beautiful cigars, great construction, but my god are they pepper bombs. If you told me it was a fresh Tat, but I'd have to be blindfolded, I'd believe it. First thing I thought was that this is a classic "must put down" cigar. Kinda like those RA Extras years back.
