Montecristo #4 GOM MAY 2018 (NRW)

If I didn't have awfulluck with Monte 4s, I would have no luck at all. Ok, that's not necessarily true, I have had 1 good Monte 4, and it was excellent. Very milky chocolate and a doughy flavor to it, it was excellent. So naturally I bought a box, GOM May 2018, a 24:24 PSP box, very dark wrappers(the picture doesn't do it justice just how dark these are. Its been an awful box, they look beautiful but will not stay lit at all. It isn't a humidity issue as no other cigars have suffered like these, maybe they just need a few years, but word on the forums at the time was they were smoking great young.

 

I keep giving chances to it, I love a petit corona, and I like monte flavors, when its on.

 

1/3: starts good, the monte DNA is there, however, like clockwork with this box after a mm the burn starts to tunnel and go out.

2/3: requiring re-lights and due to that the flavors aren't great.

3/3: I quit. Pitched it, life is too short to smoke rubbish.

 

HOWEVER, I won't quit, I see all of you raving about your UEB MAY 18 boxes, I couldn't find one of those, but I have hope for this cigar for me.

Add me to the list that raves about a 2018 box of Monte 4's.  I got a HQ box of REG May 18.

Nice review, thanks. I would bury this box and come back in three years. No point smoking through them if they all behave like this! Time might sort it out, and what have you got to lose?

Thats is all I can do, Im assuming they're just not ready
