cbenham73 Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Can anyone recommend a good cigar lounge in New Orleans? I will be visiting next week.
Burningman Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Stop by Cigar Factory. They have 2 locations. I like the one by the water. Can't remember the address. Very friendly people and a fine place to smoke.
Guest Nekhyludov Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Mayan Import Co. on Magazine St. They have a very decent humidor, a small lounge, a large outdoor yard, and a couple of hightop tables out front that are a wonderful spot to smoke a cigar and people watch. https://mayanimport.com/

Just got back Monday. Dos Jefes -- it's out of the Quarter a bit, but worth the 15 minute drive/Uber. Dive bar with great live music on Fri/Sat (if not Fri/Sat... might not be worth your time... call ahead and ask if they have music). CHEAP. No cut fee. Outdoor area as well. Crescent City Cigar Shop -- basic lounge with a good small boutique selection. Right in the Quarter. No bar. Cuban Creations -- Full bar and pretty big, open probably the latest of them except for maybe Dos Jefes. Used to be a bath house and looks like it. Bring your own cigars, practically no selection. No cut fee. Right in the Quarter. Don Leoncio -- Across Canal Street from the Quarter, full bar, can close early-ish (for NoLa), 11pm? Live music some nights. Divey. You also can smoke on most balconies. Just ask. I've heard of Mayan, but they close early. Also Smoke on the Water... did not dig the vibe but good selection to buy & go. The Cigar Factory places are pretty basic and I think only sell their own crappy hand rolls. Enjoy! And go to Coop's for great dive bar with awesome food (no smoking) -- it's where the locals go. If you like live music then Marginy Cafe on Frenchman Street has good food and full bar too (no smoking but they have outdoor tables where you can smoke); great bloody mary! Frenchman is probably the best walk area at night. You can walk there from Bourbon in a few minutes.

Last time I was down there I had one of their house rolled and played the best game of chess in my life - a very pleasant hour. It's a very chill vibe and their smokes aren't half bad.
pedrito007 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Popped into the Cigar Factory by the waterside when we were in New Orleans a couple of years ago, great friendly people in there. I really enjoyed one of their 'barberpole' sticks. Coops is awesome too, the Louisiana fried chicken in there is to die for!! Bacchanal is a great place to try although it's not in the French Quarter but only 5-10 mins in an Uber. Got a large outdoor area with live music where you can enjoy a smoke. I love New Orleans!
Kayslay Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Dos Jefes is by far my favorite place to smoke. No fees, just buy a drink!
