bayala Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 The top 4 are beginning to break away as we pass the halfway point in the season! 1. Give Gruden some credit The Raiders have played the 6th-highest S.O.S. in the league, had to travel for five straight games, have had their starting OL for only 10 total snaps, and came into the year with the league's least-experienced receiving corps. They're still 4-4. Their rookies are contributing on both sides of the ball and that bears pick could turn into a top 10. Not bad at all. 2. Let this sink in Ravens’ Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram both on pace for 1,000 rushing yards. This would be the second time in history after Michael Vick and Warrick Dunn. 3. Evolution 5 different QBs in NFL history have ever had a season with 3,500+ passing yards and 500+ rushing yards. 3 QBs could do so this season Here is every instance of a QB throwing for 3,500+ yards and rushing for 500+ yards: Player Year Pass Yds Rush Yds Deshaun Watson 2018 4165 551 Russell Wilson 2017 3983 586 Cam Newton 2015 3837 636 Russell Wilson 2015 4024 553 Cam Newton 2012 3869 741 Cam Newton 2011 4051 706 Daunte Culpepper 2002 3853 609 Randall Cunningham 1988 3808 624 Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson are currently on pace to join this club, and Deshaun Watson is close to doing it again: Player Pass Y/G Rush Y/G Proj. Pass Proj. Rush Deshaun Watson 270.2 31 4323.2 496 Kyler Murray 247.7 34.8 3963.2 556.8 Lamar Jackson 226.6 79.6 3625.6 1273.6 4. Is Gase the worst coach in the league? [Caporoso] Ryan Tannehill, freed from Adam Gase, currently leads the NFL in completion percentage at 71.8 and has a career best passer rating of 99.7. Matt Moore, freed from Adam Gase, is at 60%, 4 TDs, 0 INTs and a 100+ rating the past two weeks for the Chiefs. The Jets will probably be asking themselves why they hired him before long. Especially in the formative years of Darnold's career. 5. MVP Everyone is talking about Russell Wilson for MVP but CMC is having a rare statistical season. 1
Ken Gargett Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 i've not heard any serious talk about wilson. it has all been lamar jackson or mccaffrey. the jets should sack gase soon to give the skins plenty of time to make certain he is our next HC. looking at those passing/rushing stats, makes you weep with the mess the skins made of rg3. rookie year, 3200 and around 900 rushing. and that was a year when alfred morris also rushed for over 1600, so not as though he had to do it all himself. his stats the next year were actually similar - same passing though fewer games and around 490 rushing. if he'd played the full season either year, he could have added two more to it.
