Partagas 898 - UNK (FRWC)

I pulled out a Partagas 898 from the singles drawers, no box code though has to have some years on it to be in there.

Looked like a well rolled stick with a nice and oily wrapper. Unfortunately on the light it tunneled straight away.

Had to give it the Havana pinch to prevent further tunneling and that only helped a little.

It started with some promise though the tunneling gave way to a fairly harsh and acrid beginning.

Rarely see an ash split like this!

About half way through, with patience, fortitude and loving care, we got past the construction issues and it started coming into its own.

Finally getting the lovely leather, earth and spice I was looking for though I believe the first half tainted the full potential of this smoke.

4/10 first half, 8/10 last. Have to give it a 6. Shame.

Good review.   Stinks to have a stick start out with such bad behavior, but good thing it turned a corner for you....  I think I have my own to try for this weekend review as well.  Unless I get distracted and try something else... ?
