Wookie Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 When this cigar is "on" it is, for me, one of the finest Cuba has to offer. Not every cigar in this box has been this good. But this one was ethereal. Usually I know within the first 2-3 puffs whether I'm on to a truly special experience. And this one delivered from the start. I'm one who doesn't think of a cigar in thirds. Do transitions exist for me? Yes, but they are either somewhat non-existent or they tend to be the strengthening of body as the cigar progresses. The core flavors, for me, are either there or not usually from the beginning. This Vigia started with what I associate as the telltale flavors of a great Trinidad: nutmeg and cloves. There is a gentle woodiness underlying the bakers' spices but it is the nutmeg and cloves coating my palate from start to finish. Maybe some increased body due to tar accretion toward the end, but this one was nub-worthy. I wou ld call this a 94 point cigar when the flavors shine like they did in this sample. 4
Edward7 Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 Thanks for the review. The Vigia is almost as good as a fundadores and as good as a la trova to me.

Funny, I love the fundadore but too often they are a bit tight for me. However, the flavor is usually there. I love the Trova as well, but find it a bit milder than the Vigia, which is why I think the Vigia appeals most to me.
