This was from one of the box passes I participated previously.  I always liked the description of the flavor profile given by el prez but could not get myself into buying it because at a similar price, you can get the Epicure #2 which is more tobacco, and one of my standard smokes.  In particular the ‘burnt sugar cane’ flavor profile which i don’t get in the Epi #2 piqued my interests but not enough to pull the trigger on a box.

So here I am smoking my first...

Cold draw was slight barnyard and hay.  An easy draw.

 

1st half was what was advertised: burnt sugar cane. However, it was  more bitter/burnt than sweet tho. Also mixed in was a hint of spice and cedar.

2nd half, bitterness is gone, and the main burnt sugar cane was up front and center.  There were some hints of grassiness and baking spices too.

 

Towards the end, it was just straight leather.

Enjoyed the experience but I don’t think I’m sold on it to buy a box.

I found I enjoy the Hdm PE only when having coffee with it.
