The new sanctions under consideration for communist Cuba, expected “in the weeks ahead,” would likely target the island’s tourism sector as well as Venezuela’s cut-rate oil delivered to Havana, building on the U.S. blacklisting of tankers used to transport the supplies, the senior official said.

No kidding.  I just confirmed everything with Jorge last night, got in touch with Alex regarding some of his rolls, made arrangement for airport transfers.  Now this...  Fingers crossed!

The sanctions work as intended: they get free votes down in Florida with zero electoral downsides. They’re a no brainer. Has anyone ever said, “Gee, I really want to vote for Candidate X, but he increased sanctions on Cuba, so I guess I’ll vote for the other guy”?
