Popular Post CgarDan Posted September 28, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2019 Cohiba Siglo I from ABR 2018 that has been sitting for about a year at 65/65 One of my favorite cigars for a weekend morning or afternoon smoke Pre-light aroma of a barnyard hay. I use a Collibri guillotine for a straight cut and get more of the same aroma on the cold draw perhaps some light sweetness coming in as well Using a single light torch it catches very fast Right from the start the flavor complexity is amazing while still holding that perfect balance: I am getting some sweet molasses coupled with a bit of spices and cream -if they could make a curry taste like this I would be all over this dish ? burn is perfect and so is the draw. Ash is on the lighter side of gray and holding very nicely. As I am trying to smoke this slowly ( about a puff per minute ) some leather is sneaking in every other puff or so. A the cigar is rather small this review will be in half’s vs 3rds as most are done traditionally. Still in the first half I get more spiciness creep in - something between white and green pepper. Right before halfway point I started getting some baking spice or cookie like flavors and the ash fell of just shy off the band. Let’s see what the last half brings it seems like the cigar is Is having a dance contest between the smooth seduction of molasses and graham cracker spice and the more riskay tango of peppery spice and cream duo. Which one wins ?? I think its the alternation of these that I am loving the most. And of course the leather is acting as a master DJ making for a perfect transition between the contestants At this point I just sit back and just enjoy the show —perfect rIght down to the nub As there are so many Amazing choices out there and due to the fact that this is a regular production cigar I give it a solid 94. My only regret is that the experience lasted 40 minutes instead of an hour and a half 7
david9985 Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 A nice little review! You have a good way of explaining things! Siglo 1s are great.
