Popular Post Corylax18 Posted August 26, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 26, 2019 I purchased this box from our host while in Anchorage, Alaska several years ago. So each time I pull a stick from the box, it takes me back to that trip. Alaska is amazing and the trip was great too, and thinking about it always puts in in a good spot, mood wise. Now, on to the cigar. The wrappers on this box are much darker than most typically associate with QDO's but that doesn't bother me. Its been a year or so since I tapped into this box and I don't really remember much about the last cigar. Pre Light: Firm Pack, Milk Chocolate colored wrapper. Some veins and visible seams, but construction looks good. Cold draw is on the firm side and doesn't deliver much beyond a sweet tobacco flavor. 1st Third: Not much. Sweet Tobacco flavor, but no other easily discernible flavors. Draw and burn are very good. The aroma of the smoke is much more appealing than the flavor. It really smells amazing. 2nd Third: The flavors start to build. Sweetness continues, the smoke becomes very creamy and some citrus sneaks in around the edges. The cigar is very, very smooth. One puff, only one, generates the unmistakable flavor of Dijon mustard. Like Grey Poupon. It took me by surprise and was gone as quickly as it arrived. Lots of thick smoke production and a great burn so far. Definitely well rolled. Final Third: The same flavors continue, sweet, creamy, citrus on the fringes. Some tingly spice arrives with about 1 1/2" left, but nothing over whelming. Over all, this cigar was great. Easy to smoke, didn't require any attention, but also didn't command it. Subtle, smooth, easy to smoke. Nothing jumps out and punches you in the mouth, in a good or bad way. Great size and great construction. The cigar gave me about 1 hr 20 min of pleasure. 11
BuzzArd Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I planned to participate this weekend but ran out of time. This is what I would have been smoking. Thanks for the great review!
