Popular Post Chucko8 Posted August 26, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 26, 2019 Have had this stick resting in my 62% box for a few months now and finally got around to partaking. The cigar itself had a nice weight to it in the hand with nice construction. The wrapper has a lovely golden colorado colour, though has a bit of a blemish where there is some slight damage. There is a light floral barnyard smell at the foot. Used a V-cut and went a little off center, had another go then another again. Ended up with some mutated star fish design by accident. Took a cold draw laughing at myself. Nice draw, though the gauge feels quite big as I've been on a bit of a skinny bender recently. Cold draw is light and a sweet after taste. Torched it up and it let off some of that floral sweetness into the air whilst getting it alight. I decided to pair it up with a delicious stout beer titled Stone Beer byt Stone & Wood brewery from Byron Bay Australia. They produce this on an annual basis and I quite enjoy. Perhaps not the best beer for a warmer night in Hong Kong but hey it's my party. Lol. First third and it feels very easy, it's light hay a touch floral and plenty of cream on the finish. The end of first third and I'm feeling there is cake coming to the party. Second third and the cake is now just like sponge cake with cream. The beer is pairing beautifully in my opinion with it as the stout is a heavy one at 8.8% with some chocolate and coffee notes. Heavenly. Now also finding a stone fruit sweetness which I liken to something that I find in the NZ sauvignon blancs. The wrapper damaged area smokes through is third with no ill effects. Final third doesn't have much in the way of change, but to be honest that doesn't concern me as everything feels quite balanced at present. There is the usual step up in the intensity as per norm when you get toward the end of any stick. Though I have taken it as far as my fingers will allow. Very interested to see where these will go with a few years age on them. This is only a year old but performed well, I can now understand the hype. I'm giving this stick a 90. 8
