HdM Petit Robusto GOM DIC 2017(HDMCRW)

(side note: the first Cuban cigar I really wanted to try was a HdM Epi 2, it just appealed to me, and funny enough I have never experienced such a strong sugar cane flavor as I did in that cigar, its almost the flavor I am chasing to find again the most, have never experienced it since and that was 5+ years, ago, it was amazing how strong it was, almost too sweet but blew my mind I was tasting that in a cigar)

So here goes on my maiden review:

Enjoyed this cigar on a walk around the West Town neighborhood of Chicago on a beautiful summer day, 78 degrees, 10am.

First third: felt a saltiness on the lips that was quiet pleasant, helped contribute to a nice nuttiness flavor that held present for the first third, along with some of the ever present twang on the retro, the cigar felt medium throughout the first.

Second: the saltiness tamped back, almost dissappeared completely except for a few random hints at the beginning of the second. A coffee bean flavor made an appearance along with a very pleasant cookie sweetness which I got through the retro, which actually is one of the more refined flavors I have gotten through a retrohale, which was very enjoyable. Nuttiness returned towards the end along with a touch of cinnamon, with the body ramping up to a very full medium.

Final third began to lose the refined flavors and fall into earthier and woody flavors, a very tolerable finish. I am excited about this box, some great, clear flavors, construction wasn't great but never an issue. This cigar left me wanting another, right now, actually. 91, scratch that, 92.

Nice review  . The ones from my box so far (TSM 06-2017) have had a strong finish compared to other HdMs, definitely a full medium as you note. Love the sweet, creamy coffee notes. I have prefered these to an Epi 2 recently. Hopefully the quality persists.

Totally agree, I had an epi2 yesterday and while it was good, it didn't come near the Petit Robusto.The epi2 I have are 15 months younger, however
