Popular Post Akela3rd Posted July 28, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 28, 2019 Along with it's smaller sibling, the Perla, this has got to be one of the most under the radar cigars in the Cuban canon. Often compared to the Monte 4 but with it's own distinct earthiness and character. I love the simple, understated band on these. Stylish and neat. The cigar is well made and I've not had a bad one out of this box yet (half way through). Construction is spot on with no " lumps, bumps or sticky bits" as a paramedic friend of mine likes to say on physical patient checks. The cold draw is perfect, giving cocoa powder and a sprinkle of salt. On lighting there's dark sea salt chocolate and a huge volume of rich smoke. A light bitterness and an edge of burnt sugar or molasses. Very very nice. Into the second third it smooths a little and the Monte 4 comparison is obvious. Not as heavy on the chocolate notes but with the earthy, mineral spine that makes it distinct. You can taste the Cuban soil and I feel a connection to the terroir (I'm reading Carlo Rovelli on the interconnection of the physical and temporal on a quantum level which may be affecting my thoughts...). The final third brings a black pepper tingle to the lips and tongue which doesn't show in the retrohale - a nice physical combination. Overall an excellent cigar and one to search out. A solid 8/10. . Sent from 47171 Lempo 14 2

Akela3rd Posted July 29, 2019 Author Posted July 29, 2019 That wrapper looks really great in those pics for a petite. Thanks for the reviewThanks Chuck. These are generally really well made and better looking and better burning than a lot of the higher end cigars out there. Keep it quiet though... must protect supply. Sent from 47171 Lempo 1
