Popular Post daleighan
This was a very nice example of these cigars with a nice medium-light colored wrapper that has a bit of sheen. Pre-light flavors include hay, a hint pound cake and a bit of spice. The draw was somewhat firm, though definitely nowhere near plugged I enjoyed this cigar with a pour over of Camilina Gesha from Dragonfly Coffee Roasters. This coffee has prominent berry flavors and is a medium-light roast that really brought out some of the flavors from this cigar. First Third: This cigar started out with quite a bit of agave-like sweetness and some classic Cohiba hay flavors. There was also a hint of lemon flavor. The burn was very even throughout and the smoke was rich and thick and there was quite a strong nicotine kick. The body was a solid medium. It definitely reminded me quite a bit for a Siglo II that I smoked recently and was more similar to the Siglo line than these cigars usually are. There was a touch of spice on the retrohale, but it wasn’t harsh at all Second Third: The body moved towards medium light. The agave sweetness and lemon became more prominent while there was less hay flavor during this section. The ash was light-colored and flaky. The draw also became a bit less firm and some toasted tobacco and pound cake flavors entered the mix. Towards the last third, more spiciness became apparent. The retrohale was very smooth and sweet during this section. All of the flavors were moving in and out quite a bit over the course of this section. Final Third: By the final third, this cigar displayed many classic Cohiba traits, with the body moving back to just over medium. This section was markedly less sweet. The flavors were a delicious combination of hay, spice and a bit of lemony citrus. There was also a hint of blueberry flavor that was probably intensified by the coffee I paired with it. The retrohale was still smooth and a bit spicy, though still not harsh at all. Smoke time: 60 minutes Conclusions: This is definitely one of my favorite cigars, and this example didn’t disappoint! It was very complex, and the smoking experience was extremely pleasant. The burn was just about perfect all the way through, require not even the slightest bit of touch up. If I had one complaint, it was that the draw was a little bit firmer than other examples of this cigar, though the firmness of the draw added to the complexity, which was more than I have experienced in some other examples of the already typically complex cigar. All in all, it was full of classic Cohiba DNA and I enjoyed it immensely. All of the CCEs I have had of this box code have been truly spectacular smoking experiences! I am looking forward to smoking the rest of this box and then aging the other box of these that I have. Score: 94/100
