Popular Post RDB
No boxcode, but the old band so must be at least ten years’ on this. Gorgeous dark brindled wrapper. Really deep flavours: oily roast hazelnuts, wet leather, oak bark, black soil. Started medium bodied and built from there. Am I the only one who finds Upmann among the fullest bodied of the marcas? More than Bolivar or Partagas to me - maybe it’s a personal thing. Toasty, pungent retro smoke. I put it down for dinner and relit twice, to no ill effect whatsoever. Raggedy burn, darkish ash, pepper in the last third, strong nicotine hit. All suggest this had many many more years to go. Impressive!
