Islandboy Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 In all honesty, I can’t put a finger on what “pure tobacco flavor” tastes like.
Cazador Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Strangely, I get this from most of the belicosos/piramides/torpedoes/whatevers. SCdlh La Punta, BBF, RyJ Belis, VR Unicos all come to mind.
Fugu Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 You may be onto something. Have to admit, I never gave much attention to that with regard to a particular marca so far. It just is so great if you run across it. But, true, in particular in aged Clásicos (Familiares, DA) this plain, rich "tobacco flavour" appears to be notable, like this older review here also seems to reflect. Something that I would never attribute to e.g. Por Larranaga or Monte. "...and then there remained a taste, as banal as it might sound, of plain, gracefully aged tobacco. Yes, simple as that - tobacco! But still special and unique and hard to describe. No pronounced flavours of chocolate, no nuts, no honey, no stonefruit or the like: Tobacco, in all its fine complexity." 1 1
